Today’s Fit Five Friday features Tricia from New York. Let’s see what she has to say about health, fitness, and her body.
1. What do you love about your body?
I like my height. It’s great to be tall! Fortunately or unfortunately, it can hide weight gain. But, I also like my legs which tend to be on the skinny side! Thanks, Mom for them gams!
2. What would you like to change about your body?
I would like to change the way my body (and I know I am not the only one!) sags in strategic places. But, I do know that exercise can help with this problem. Maybe not completely, but trying is half the battle!
3. Have you ever been or are you currently on a diet?
I was just on a diet and lost 50 pounds which I had gained when I married my husband 22 years ago. No excuse for letting this go on so long since my genetic makeup is on the tall & thin side. How lazy and addicted to carbs was I? Not anymore. I have been successful for two months now. I am never going to gain the “fat” back!
4. Have you ever or do you currently belong to a gym?
I have belonged to a gym as far back as I can remember. I am currently a member of the local YMCA, specifically the new one in Penfield. Fabulous facility and great people!
5. What does fitness mean to you?
Fitness mean everything to me. As I age, it becomes so important to exercise and stay as fit as possible. I admit I am lazier than I should be, as I have the tools in front of me. But every day is a new day for working out! It is doubly hard for me since my husband is a sedentary person and I can’t get him to exercise.
Bonus: What is your current fitness goal?
My current fitness goal is to maintain my current weight, maybe lose another 5 lbs. or so, and to make sure that some form of exercise occurs on a daily basis.
