You know those people who aren’t just one thing, but one thing plus another thing, and it just seems totally unfair? Like, a beautiful woman who is also an amazing athlete. Or a handsome fella whose singing voice makes people weak in the knees. I appreciate those people, but I also feel large amounts of jealousy of them and their endowments. You know, in a wah wah, life isn’t fair! type of way.
Like these ridiculously good looking singers. Come on!
Here’s a personal example of the exact opposite of this. As you know, I was fat in high school. But on top of that – the icing on what seemed like a very terrible cake (it obviously had whipped frosting on it and not buttercream) – I also had really bad acne.
I thought this weird orange bar was going to safe my (social) life.
It seemed so unusually cruel, that life had not only imprisoned me in a too-large body, but then it felt the need to curse me with constant zits, too! I would look at all these slim, beautiful classmates with flawless, ivory skin and wonder why they had won the Perfect High School Girl Lottery, while I languished in my leggings and oversized sweaters, smearing benzoyl peroxide on my cheeks and forehead.
Lies.
Okay, so what does this have to do with free stuff for you? Long story short(ish): In college, a friend introduced me to a skin care routine, and my face cleared up. That did wonders for my self-esteem, as you can imagine. And since that time, I have made it a priority to take care of my skin. Maybe that’s one of the reasons people think I’m a decade younger than I actually am!
Pretty sure this stuff nearly burned my face off.
Cut to the present, and my friend Lindsay has become a consultant for a skincare company called Rodan + Fields. She sent me some of their products to try for free, and she sent me a second set of those products so I could give it away to a lucky reader! Here’s the lowdown on R+F:
