Fit Five: Gilouse

And we’re back! Today’s Fit Five Friday features Gilouse from Massachusetts. Let’s see what she has to say about health, fitness, and her body.

1. What do you love about your body?

Definitely my legs. I’ve had great legs for as long as I can remember.

2. What would you like to change about your body?

My body size. I’d like to slim down and tone up a bit. More importantly, I want to feel that I’m living in a healthier body, with more energy and confidence in how I look and feel.

3. Have you ever been or are you currently on a diet?

I haven’t been much of a dieter, but over the past year, I’ve made some important changes to my eating habits (smaller portions, timing of meals and snacks, much less carbs, emphasis on protein, and filling out the rest of my plate with veggies).

4. Have you ever or do you currently belong to a gym? 

Yes, I belong to a gym now. Prior to that I was working out at a fitness studio where trainers would help me exercise and give me tips on getting the most out of my workout and eating “clean.”

5. What does fitness mean to you?

Fitness to me means having energy to burn, getting a good night’s sleep, keeping the stress to minimum – and feeling good about the way I look physically.

Bonus: What is your current fitness goal?

I’m working to fully adopt and maintain my exercise routine and good eating habits. In so doing, I’m targeting weigh loss at a rate of 5 lbs a month. I’ve lost over the 30 lbs from my peak weight already, with some 50 more pounds to lose.
