A faithful BFD reader posed a very important question to me yesterday: “What kind of advice have you got for a fat girl in need of jeans?”
Low rise, high rise, curvy, boot cut, boyfriend, skinny, straight, flare… Jeans can be a girl’s best friend, or her worst enemy. If you’re like me, you don’t want to spend a lot on a pair of jeans (the less you spend, the more pairs you can have!). But you want them to fit and flatter – and you would especially like to avoid the dreaded gap in the back.
Currently, I like the Diva fit jeans from Old Navy (with the caveat that you have to try on every single pair, as “quality control” is not high on the ON priority list), as well as the a.n.a. brand from JCPenney. But my favorite right now is a pair of boyfriend jeans that I found at the GAP outlet over the summer. I don’t know that they are particularly flattering, but they sure are comfortable (sort of like some boyfriends, eh?).
So, dear readers, where do you get your jeans? What’s most important to you when it comes to buying jeans – fit, brand name, cost, something else? Share your best (and worst!) denim suggestions in the comments.
