All right, people, we’ve got stuff to accomplish today! First up, it’s time to announce the winner of the first-ever BFD giveaway! Using a total random generator I found on the internet (the modern-day equivalent of writing all your names on a piece of paper and sticking them in a hat), the winner is….
Katya! Congratulations, Katya. Send your address to me at bigfitdeal@gmail.com, and your Rodan + Fields products will be on their way to you!
Next up: I was on TV, and I lived to tell the tale.
As you know from the other day, I was stressing out about what I was going to look like on camera. Turns out, I look like me. Go figure! Here’s a screen shot of me talking to the camera:
And here’s the one shot that gave me a bit of pause, because it makes my arm look bigger than my head. Which apparently it is? There’s a whole discussion to be had here about how that makes me feel, given how much working out I do, the weights I lift on the regular and all the cardio I do. That probably sounds contrary to the spirit of BFD, that I wish I my body looked different, but I’m nothing if not contrary! But we’ll save that conversation for another day.
Oh, the title of this post! The winner is obviously Katya. The loser? Right now, unfortunately, it’s the Arc of Yates. Despite the great segment on the news, the Arc is still in desperate need of a heck of a lot of money. If you have a few dollars to spare, please consider making a donation. Right now, the cost to rebuild is estimated at $500,000. (So if you have a few thousand dollars to spare, they’ll take that, too.) Shares and tweets are also appreciated. Thank you!
And finally, one last bit of housekeeping. For the rest of the summer (and maybe longer), I’m going to be moving to a schedule of two posts a week instead of three. There’s something big I want to accomplish before I (hopefully) start graduate school in the fall, and it requires some serious time and energy. A couple of years ago, I wrote a middle grade novel, and all it needs is a bit more loving care and attention before I send it out to agents. I want to get that finished so it doesn’t linger in my proverbial drawer of unfinished manuscripts while I’m busy earning my masters.
So, here’s to finishing old things – and starting new ones! What’s on your list?
