Week End Words

Welcome to a new weekly feature here at BFD: Week End Words!

Every Friday, I’ll be sharing a collection of quotes I’ve gathered throughout the week. Some will probably make your head spin. Hopefully, some will inspire you. I’ve also taken my favorite quote from the week and added it to an image. Feel free to share it, post it, pin it. And then be sure to have a great weekend, BFDers!

“Women are afraid of meeting a serial killer. Men are afraid of meeting someone fat.” – When Strangers Click, a 2011 documentary about online dating.

“I went to the catacombs, and all these people are literally stacked on top of each other. We’re all just bones, trying to get along. We’re all the exact same at our core. It helps put things in perspective – that we’re all people that will eventually be bones again.” – Emma Stone

“Frankly, some women’s bodies just don’t actually work.” –Lululemon founder Chip Wilson, suggesting one reason why his yoga pants were recalled for being see-through.

“The way she held her head up high, and was smiling and so confident, I was really proud. She looked so pretty, and you could tell she felt it.” – Ruth Smith, a mother from Illinois who is developing a line of plus-size clothes for girls, after a girl tried on some clothes that truly fit.

“At first I ate a box of 20 for lunch, then another for dinner. The next day I had two boxes for breakfast, one for lunch and then another couple in the evening.” –Usain Bolt, talking about how he ate basically nothing but Chicken McNuggets during the Beijing Olympics.

“The next time somebody feels the need to tell you ‘something you don’t know’ about being you – your body, lifestyle, behaviors, thoughts or health – feel free to tell them (out loud or in your mind) that it’s not you, it’s them; that you know everything you need to know about being you, and when you want their opinion they will be among the very first to know.” – Ragen Chastain
